Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier
The youngest member of the Cartier watch collection is the Ballon Bleu de Cartier, which was launched in 2007. The name Ballon Bleu means blue balloon and it lives up to its name with its special design. A stylish statement watch that has been an integral part of the Cartier watch collection since its appearance. A wide range of dial colors, materials, bracelets and case sizes make the Ballon Bleu de Cartier one of the largest collections at Cartier. Thanks to its round shape, it can be reinvented again and again and moves with the times.
Cartier has shown us time and time again that a watch case does not have to be classically round and with the Ballon Bleu the designers have thought up and created something special. The case has been given volume (circle) and a double convex (raised, curved outwards) shape, creating a balance between lines and volume without interruptions in the line through the recessed crown into the case. This special crown protection is called a fluted crown. Not just an optical development, but also additional protection for the blue cabochon through the crown cap under the metal ring. To give the Ballon Bleu its rounded finish, Cartier arranged the Roman numerals in a circle on the dial. If you've ever wondered what the structure of the silver-colored dial is called, it's called guilloché. Which means something like engraving geometric figures consisting of fine lines at close, always the same distance. Fineness down to the smallest detail can also be found inside the Ballon Bleu. In order to preserve the small diameter of 28 mm and the filigree, a high-quality quartz movement was installed (reference W69010Z4). Automatic movements are installed from diameters of 33 mm, 36 mm and 42 mm. New is the automatic manufacture caliber 1847MC in the 40 mm case.
