IWC Ingenieur Chronograph

The IWC Ingenieur Chronograph is a tribute to the clear and sober lines of engineering. Technology and creativity go hand in hand and make the Ingenieur Chronograph a masterpiece of watchmaking that not only brings great joy to engineers and technicians. The unique design of this watch series impresses with its clear shapes, solid material, simplicity and clarity. The sapphire crystal case back satisfies the curiosity of engineers and technology fans, as it provides an insight into the modern technology of the chronograph.

Technology and clear shapes

Every watch in the IWC Ingenieur Chronograph collection is powered by a 69375 caliber movement that is assembled by hand in the IWC factory. Experienced watchmakers bring all their know-how to the movement with 31 jewels and numerous delicate components. The automatic movement works on the basis of the classic column wheel design and is operated by a pawl system that winds on both sides and is similar to the Pellaton winding system. One of the popular and technically interesting features of this collection is the tachymeter scale, which can be used to measure speed at 1,000 meters.

Engineering for technology fans

The IWC Ingenieur Chronograph is as much a tribute to the art of engineering as it is a chronograph for engineers and technology enthusiasts. The cases in the collection are made of durable stainless steel or shiny 18-carat red gold. Both types are screwed to the sapphire crystal caseback in such a way that they are water-resistant to 12 bar. The two stainless steel versions are fitted with sturdy stainless steel bracelets, while the gold models are fitted with bracelets made of grey calfskin or shiny black alligator leather. The engineering theme also determines the design of the dials, which are silver-plated, blue or black. Three sub-dials, a date display and a tachymeter scale give the face of the watch a technical and professional look. Arabic numerals and gold indices are detailed features that the designers at IWC deliberately used in this series of technically filigree watches.
