IWC Pilot Watches
IWC Pilot Watches embody innovation and tradition in perfection
Precision and functionality have been the hallmarks of the IWC Pilot Watches range for decades. The "special watch for pilots" produced by the Schaffhausen watch manufacturer in 1936 was perfectly adapted to the extreme conditions in the cockpit of a fighter jet. The "Big Pilot" was introduced four years later. With a case diameter of 55 millimeters, its precise in-house movement and the anti-magnetic inner case, it met the expectations of professional pilots. The legendary Mark 11 was launched in 1948. It served as the model for all subsequent IWC Pilot Watches.
Technically unique pilot's watches from IWC
The Big Pilot is the flagship of IWC's pilot's watches. It is presented in the traditional, recognized cockpit design. The appearance of this extraordinary watch is enhanced by the automatic Pellaton winding mechanism, an impressive power reserve of seven days and a power reserve indicator. The stainless steel case has a diameter of 46 millimeters. The watch is reliably protected from magnetic fields by its robust inner case made of soft iron.
The Pilot's Watch Chronograph and the Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph impress with the design of their dials. They are reminiscent of the on-board instruments of the famous JU 52 aircraft from the 1930s. The large displays and the white indices and hands on the matt black background guarantee perfect legibility of the time during the day and at night. Signal red touches on the simple dial provide additional character.
Striking design of the IWC Pilot Watches
The Top Gun collection includes five pilot's watches with a striking design. The collection was inspired by the cult film of the same name starring Tom Cruise about the US Navy's flight school. The military look is characterized by a textile strap, a metallic case and a dial in military colors such as beige and olive. The Mark XVII pilot's watch is firmly in the tradition of IWC Pilot Watches and is the successor to the IWC Mark XI. With the "Le Petit Prince" and "Antoine de Saint-Exupéry" collections, IWC pays tribute to the writer and enthusiastic pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
