IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Spitfire
Homage to a legend of the skies
Hours, minutes, seconds and date display are reliably displayed by the IWC Big Pilot's Watch Chronograph Spitfire. Three sub-dials pack a lot of information onto the dial. The date display can also be found at the three o'clock position. Only eight of the twelve Arabic numerals can actually be found on the dark dial, but this ensures excellent readability. The Ardoise coloring of the dial is another homage to the legendary Spitfire fighter plane, which was built in England and became a legend because of its aerodynamic shapes, which designers still like to use as a model today.
Design in memory of a legend
An IWC Big Pilot's Watch Chronograph Spitfire combines the aerodynamic shape of an aircraft from the last century with the modern mechanisms of the IWC manufacture. The Ardoise coloring goes back to the Spitfire and the supple shape of the stainless steel case with the stainless steel bracelet are style features that evoke the dream of flying. Two of the sub-dials, top and bottom, are used to measure time using the stop function. The times can be added up using this instrument and the red second hand always provides an overview of the stopwatch function. Another feature is the revolutionary soft iron inner casing, which protects against magnetic fields and thus ensures extreme accuracy of timekeeping without distraction.
