Master Chronometer

Master Chronometers demonstrate extraordinary accuracy and durability

In order for watches to be able to advertise their highest precision and reliability, they must pass 15 days of tough tests. Customers who buy luxury watches with the Master Chronometer label are guaranteed that their watch has passed the tests. The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) also awards the "Master Chronometer" seal. The Omega Globemaster was the first watch in the world to receive this seal.

Demanding challenges

The challenges for watches that want to achieve the METAS seal are demanding. For example, a watch must already have a movement certified by the COSC . In the case of the Omega Globemaster, it was the caliber 9900 that had to go through the series of tests. In the tough tests, which still have to be passed today, the watch has to face everyday challenges, and it has to prove in six different positions that it is not only impervious to water. It also has to withstand magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss. Here, the entire watch is tested, not just the movement.

Master Chronometer convince

The Omega Globemaster was the first watch from the traditional Omega company to pass these tests with flying colors. It can rightly call itself a "Master Chronometer". A caliber with the "Master Chronometer" certification works in the Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Co-Axial Master Chronometer. Racing enthusiasts in particular buy chronometers when they are looking for a watch that combines style and reliability.

Accuracy is crucial for luxury watches

Valuable watches do not only impress with their style and elegance. Their precision makes them sought after by lovers of expensive timepieces. With other important seals, such as the Chronometer or Superlative Chronometer seal, wristwatches show that they are reliable and meet all the requirements for luxury watches.
