Extraordinary story
Although the Panerai watch manufacturer was founded in 1860, it only came to the attention of the public in 1993. Up until this point, the traditional Italian company had not produced any timepieces for commercial purposes. In 1936, Officine Panerai produced a watch on special commission from the Navy whose outstanding feature was, among other things, reliable water resistance. The hands and markings ensured optimal readability under water. They were coated with a luminous chemical mixture that the founder Guido Panerai's grandson improved to full maturity and had patented under the name Radiomir.
Reliable and sought after
In 1997, the company went public with a new generation Officine Panerai Radiomir. This was a platinum version that was limited to 60 pieces. The case had a diameter of 47 millimeters. In the following years, other Officine Panerai Radiomir watch models were launched. These also included model variants with a smaller diameter case.
Today, the remarkable diving watch is one of the most popular models from Officine Panerai. The design of the modern Radiomir is still reminiscent of its military predecessor. However, it is equipped with the completely harmless luminescent material Superluminova. The many different versions of the diving watch are interesting for enthusiasts and collectors. All timepieces in the model series remain true to the traditional and legendary form in their appearance. There is variety in the calibers. Movements from renowned manufacturers and our own in-house calibers are built into the cases.
