Tag Heuer
The Swiss watch company TAG Heuer SA, based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, has been operating for over 150 years.
During this long company history, the engineers have managed to bring a number of innovations to the market. For example, the first patent for a stopwatch mechanism in 1882 is worth mentioning, and the first hundredth-of-a-second chronograph can also be traced back to TAG Heuer. The design varies from elegant to sporty and always combines the best technology with great looks. For example, the TAG Heuer Carrera Mikrotimer Flying 1000, released in 2010, is characterized by an elegant design with a black dial and a measurement accuracy of up to 1/1000th of a second.
The founder Edouard Heuer ran the company, founded in Saint-Imier, under his name until 1985. In the same year, the company merged with the TAG Group and went public in 1996. Since 1999, the company has been part of the French luxury manufacturer "Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA".
TAG Heuer has made a public appearance by timing the Olympic Games and the American IndyCar racing series, among others. The watches are also used for timing by the Formula 1 teams Ferrari and McLaren-Mercedes.
Based on this history, the most famous chronograph series are the “ Carrera ”, “ Monaco ” and “ Formula 1 ”. TAG Heuer relies on well-known faces from the world of sport such as Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Tiger Woods for marketing. However, celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Uma Thurman are also among the TAG Heuer ambassadors.
