This year, Rolex once again presented many new products from its range at the annual Baselworld, but one watch stands out from the rest: the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40!
This new model is characterized by a rich history. The first model in this line was introduced in 1956 and already boasted self-winding, water resistance and a chronometer. This technical sophistication continues in the new model. With a new mechanical manufacture movement, caliber 3255, a "superlative chronometer" is still presented, as the chronometric performance is twice that required for official certification as a chronometer. It is therefore quite obvious that this model is the wristwatch most often worn by presidents and leaders.
As the name suggests, this is a Rolex watch with a diameter of 40 mm that is only combined with the finest materials. This masterpiece is therefore only available in various gold variations or in platinum. The many different dials, which are also available with diamonds, are particularly appealing. The most striking, however, is a new ice-blue dial that attracts a lot of attention. Nevertheless, the characteristic charm of the classic Day-Date is retained with the large weekday display at twelve o'clock and a date display with magnifying glass at three o'clock. The large variety on offer means that there is the perfect piece for every taste.
The perfected combination of technical know-how and timeless elegance reflects the entire class of Rolex.
