The Omega Speedmaster Apollo 17 45th anniversary limited editions is offered in two versions. The model with a stainless steel case has a edition of 1,972 pieces. With an edition of 272 pieces, the model is made of 18 carat yellow gold. Both watches impress with original details on their dials. The subdial at the 9 o'clock position shows a very vivid representation of the god Apollo. The god of light is accompanied by an image of the moon. In the stainless steel version, the images etched into the dial have a chrome-colored PVD coating. In the gold version of the Omega Speedmaster, the depictions are made of gold.
Honorable remembrance
Commander Gene Cernan, who led the Apollo 17 mission, died in 2017. He also left history's last footprints on the surface of the moon. The exact time of the last step was 05:34 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). To commemorate Cernan, the time is printed in red on the dial of each model.
