The indices of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 in stainless steel and white gold have been enlarged. The indices and the hands of the watch are made of 18 carat white gold, which prevents tarnishing. Both are covered with blue Chromalight, which has a particularly long luminosity. This improves the readability of the time at any time of the day. The minute track on the outer edge of the Rolex Datejust 36 stainless steel / white gold has also changed. No longer lying between two lines, it is now placed on the dial in a much clearer and more delicate manner.
Pure robustness – the Oyster case from Rolex
The 126234 comes in a 36 mm case made of stainless steel and white gold. The fluted bezel is made of 18 carat white gold and the rest is made of Rolex special 904L stainless steel. The Oyster case was invented by Rolex in 1926. The middle part of the Rolex watches is punched out and carved out of a solid block of the metal used. The bezel, caseback and winding crown are screwed to the middle section. This means you have a hermetic case construction, thanks to which the watch is waterproof up to 10 bar.
The middle part of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 forms the supporting structure of the case. The other components of the watch are attached to it. The case back is hermetically screwed to the middle section. This base has a characteristic groove into which a special tool from Rolex fits precisely. With this special tool, only authorized watchmakers are able to take a look at the internal movement.

The Rolex Datejust 36 is available with either an Oyster bracelet or the Jubilee bracelet. Both are closed with the Oysterclasp folding clasp. The 18-carat white gold bezel is fluted. The 126234 uses the in-house caliber 3235, which now has a power reserve of 70 hours. On the different dial variants, the date window is still located at the three o'clock position.
The dials underneath the sapphire crystal are available in different colors. In addition to the classic black index, blue index and silver index, there are other color variants that definitely stand out on the wrist. Two dials have a Jubilee print. Available in a blue version and in a delicate rosé version. Both have diamonds as indexes. A rose-colored dial is also available with Roman numerals. Here the numbers VI and IX are set with a total of 24 diamonds. The dial is also available in aubergine and silver. The bright mother-of-pearl dial is subtle yet eye-catching. Here too, the indices are again diamonds set in an 18 carat white gold setting.
