Campbell praised the brand for the unique robustness that was proven time and again in his races. In 1962, the Rolex company began timing the race and officially named the reference 6239 Daytona. Today, races are still held at Daytona, including the popular 24-hour race. Rolex has maintained its commitment to this racing experience ever since.
