From classic to unusual
As already mentioned, the stainless steel case of the Breitling Superocean Automatic has a diameter of 42 mm and a height of 13.30 mm. The screwed case back is also made of stainless steel. The unidirectional rotating bezel is available in two different colors, to which the rest of the watch has been adapted. The A17366D81A1A1 is equipped with a blue bezel. The dial is white and the indices, numbers and hands are also white and have a blue border. This variant of the watch is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, while the A17366D81A1S1 has a blue Diver Pro II rubber strap with a pin buckle.
The four other models of the Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 are available with a black bezel. If you like something eye-catching and want that certain splash of color on your wrist, you can choose between the A17366D710S1 and the A17366D71D1A1. The dials of both models are bright orange. Indices, hands and numbers are white and have a black border. The A17366D710S1 of the Superocean has a black Diver Pro II rubber strap, while the A17366D710A1 is again equipped with a stainless steel bracelet. The classic Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 is still available in completely black. Black bezel, black dial and, for the A17366021B1S1, even the black Diver Pro II rubber strap. High-precision work performance
All six variants of the Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 are equipped with the Breitling 17 caliber. This caliber can build up a power reserve of up to 38 hours. Thanks to the crown screwed together with two seals, the watch is waterproof up to 50 bar. But the Superocean doesn't just cut a fine figure in the water. Thanks to its sporty look, the luxury watch can be worn at any time and with any outfit. Thanks to its compact size, the watch is not too big even for a woman's wrist.
This Breitling luxury watch is also equipped with sapphire crystal. The production of this sapphire crystal requires several precisely carried out operations. After the synthetic sapphire is created from a fusion of clay, hydrogen, oxygen and heat at 2050°C, it is heated again to 1800°C to stabilize the material. It is then cut into slices with a diamond blade and then cut into the desired diameter. Both sides are then ground, creating the cambered shape of the glass. Finally, the edges are beveled so that the glass fits into the housing and then it is chemically polished on both sides. In a sterile laboratory, the glass is made anti-reflective by vacuum evaporation in an oven.
Underneath this sapphire crystal lies the dial, on which the date can be read in addition to the time. The date window on the Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 is located at the 3 o'clock position. Not very noticeable and yet very useful in everyday life. The indices, numbers and hands are not only perfectly matched to the respective model, but are also coated with the Super LumiNova luminescent material. This ensures that the time can be read even in the evening or at depth.
The well-known Superocean, newly designed
Based on its predecessor, the Slow Motion, the Breitling Superocean has been redesigned. The focus is entirely on the details that make up a Superocean diving watch. A clear and straightforward dial on which the large and wide indices and hands filled with Super LumiNova are easy to read. A scratch-resistant ceramic inlay bezel, which can be rotated on one side and has an additional lock, guarantees a safe dive. The screwed crown with two seals and a screwed back ensure water resistance of up to 30 bar. The Superocean is also shockproof and, for the adventurers of this world, sand and saltwater resistant. In order to easily get the metal or rubber band over the wetsuit, the folding clasp has an extension that allows you to enlarge the band by up to 15 mm.
The mechanical automatic watch with the “Breitling 17” caliber is available in the dial colors orange, black, white and blue. The caliber of this Breitling gives its wearer a power reserve of around 38 hours. The Superocean automatic can be found with a blue dial and metal bracelet with the reference A17375E71C1A1 or with a rubber strap under the number A17375E71C1S1. Black dial with color-matched rubber has the reference A17375211B1S1 and with metal bracelet A17375211B1A1. The white sheet with steel band variant can be found with the A17375E71G1A1 or the blue band with the A17375E71G1S1.
The Breitling with the orange background and green rubber is called “Kelly Slater” and has the reference A173751A101S1.
The case version made of stainless steel, with 18 kt red gold bezel, black dial and black rubber strap, can be found with the reference U17375211B1S1.
The special bronze edition, Ref. N17375201L1S1, has a green dial with a matching rubber strap. The housing acquires its own patina over time thanks to a special alloy with corrosion resistance.

There are also one-piece OUTERKNOWN bracelets made of Econyl, available in the colors gray, khaki, red, orange and dark blue, with a pin buckle.
